Waking Night Carer
Location: Welwyn Garden City, AL7
Wage: £13.00 Weekdays | £15.00 Weekends Gross per Hour
Essential: Experienced waking night carer supporting a young person with complex care needs
Days & Hours: 2 Waking Nights per Week. 10.00pm – 6.00am

About our client/child:
Our client John is 19 years old, he enjoys watching films, trips to the local shopping mall, playing with his switch toys, arts and crafts and messy play. John lives at home with his Mum and Dad and is supported by a care team almost 24/7. John has Cerebral Palsy, Global Development Delay, a Learning Disability and Epilepsy. John receives his nutrition via a PEG and uses an Eye Gaze and other AAC to support his communication. When John is unable to go out, he enjoys spending time in his sensory garden which has a wheelchair swing.

Overview of role:
John requires an experienced *female Waking Night Carer to join his care team. There are care plans and established routines in place that you will follow. The role will involve hoisting, moving, and handling, assisting with personal care, administering medication/PEG feeds, and tending to all John’s needs throughout the night. He has a fully adapted chill-out room, bedroom, and wet room. John is sensitive to sensory input and requires gentle lighting and a constant white noise background. This is a permanent position, offering 2 Waking Nights per week, the rota is provided 4 weeks in advance. We are happy to work around your availability and commitments.
