Wage:15.00 gross per hour weekdays, £17.00 gross per hour weekends

Essential: Supporting a child with complex medical needs, PEG, manual handling, satisfactory reference and DBS

Days & Hours: Variety of shifts available Term time: Monday - Friday 4.30pm - 8.00pm, Saturday 8.00am - 8.30pm. School holidays shifts 8.00am - 8.30pm
Family/Client Pets: Friendly Labrador

About this client/child: 
Tom (12) is a lovely young man who likes animals, enjoys exploring nature and playing in the garden.  Tom has athetoid cerebral palsy, respiratory problems and severe dystonia. Tom is non-verbal but can express his likes and dislikes. Tom is fully dependent on others for all his personal care, transfers and mobilisation in his wheelchair. He is fed a blended diet via Gastrostomy and all fluids and medication are administered via this route also.

Overview of role:
Tom attends a special needs school and your role will include supporting him before and after school routine and at the weekends. You will be responsible for assisting him with personal care, administering his medication, feeding, implementing his therapy into a daily routine and having lots of fun.
