Essential:
Confident working with young adults with a physical disability, Non-smoker/Vaper and confident swimmer. *This role is open to female applicants only.       
Desirable: Experience working with young adults with learning difficulties
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Alternate Fridays (Term time only) 5.00pm to 9.00pm and Alternate Saturday’s 8.30am to 8.30pm

About this client/child:
Grace aged 14 is a sociable young lady who loves to explore life. She particularly enjoys festivals, discos, exploring new cities, seeing bands and musicals.  Grace has cerebral palsy and requires support with her mobility and communication. She drives a power wheelchair with close supervision. She can communicate verbally although sometimes this can be unclear so requires patience and encouragement to help her communicate her needs and wishes. In addition, she requires assistance with getting dressed, eating and all personal care. Grace attends a residential school Monday to Friday which she loves.

Overview of role:
We are looking for a friendly Support Worker who can assist with Grace during Friday evenings (term time only) and then every Saturday. Your role will be tailored around organising fun activities for Grace based on her interests and helping make things accessible for her. You will also assist Grace with her personal care and manual handling, full training will be provided. The role offers £15.00 gross during the week and £17.00 gross per hour during the weekend.

Who this job would suit:
We are looking for a *Female Support Worker who is fun, confident and caring. Grace really connects well with someone who can make her laugh, so having good a sense of humour would be a bonus. Experience wise all candidates should be confident supporting a young adult with a physical disability.

This is a lovely fun role for someone who is looking for part-time hours or possibly a student who has experience in this field. You will be working with a lovely young lady and her very friendly family. You will be well supported by a case manager and all mandatory training will be provided.
