About this client/child:
Chloe aged 10 is a very intelligent and sociable girl. She loves to sing, watch YouTube, and be involved in any games and jokes – she’s always up for a laugh! She is incredibly close with her family including her 2 siblings and enjoys spending time with them. Chloe has cerebral palsy and presents with a hyperkinetic movement disorder. She is mostly non-verbal but communicates well with Makaton, gestures, vocalisation and AAC on her iPad. She has good hand control. Chloe uses a manual wheelchair and is currently being assessed for a powerchair. She completes standing transfers and can get around (very quickly!) on her knees or bottom shuffling.

Overview of role:
We are looking for a *female Support Worker to assist with Chloe’s routine, Monday to Friday. She attends a specialist school and is collected by school transport. As Chloe’s Support Worker you’ll assist in all aspects of her daily care needs outside school hours. This includes personal care, manual handling and being involved in therapy sessions. During the holidays you’ll facilitate taking Chloe swimming, trips to museums and generally be pro-active in finding fun activities you can do together. During the summer holidays the family often travel abroad, and it would perfect if the Support Worker was happy to go with them (all expenses paid). Chloe’s mum has been her full-time care provider up until this point, so it is important to work closely with mum and be understanding that this is a big change for her. A competitive hourly rate of £18.00 Gross Per Hour is offered.

Who this job would suit:
This will suit a *female Support Worker who is confident, positive, and good fun! You’ll have previous experience supporting a young person with a physical disability and preferably a good understanding of how to support clients who are non-verbal. You will ideally have your own car to get to the client’s house as it is not near public transport (driveway parking available).

What’s great about this job:
You will be joining an exceptionally warm and welcoming family. Chloe has a full multi-disciplinary team in place who carry out sessions at home and in the school. You will have the opportunity to observe and be offered bespoke training to implement Chloe’s therapy programs. Full mandatory and specific clinical training will also be provided. This is really a wonderful opportunity for a *female Support Worker to put their own stamp on the role and create further opportunities for Chloe. The family live in a beautiful, fully adapted home, right on the edge of Richmond Park.
