About this client:
Nathan 15, is a bright and outgoing young man with great sense of humour.  He loves history, music, playing FIFA and other video games, and hanging out with his twin sister.  Nathan has cerebral palsy, is a wheelchair user and has a cochlear implant. He requires support with all personal care tasks, such as dressing, washing, toileting etc.  Nathan has 2:1 support and you will be working alongside his other teacher, therapists, and family members.

Overview of role:
We are seeking a fantastic Learning Support Assistant/ PA who will assist Nathan at school and at home. This is a very important year for Nathan as he is preparing for his GCSE’S exams. Nathan does hybrid learning; he attends school for certain subjects a few hours per day and completes the rest of learning from home, and you will be flexible and adaptable to the different aspects of this role. You will support Nathan with his morning routine, drive him to school and assist him during the lessons. He missed a lot of school due to Covid and requires help and encouragement with social interaction. Nathan’s lessons are adapted on a computer program to make it accessible to him, you’ll need to be computer savvy. Part of the role is to engage with Nathan’s sister and assist with her homework if required. Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6.30pm (flexibility required), £44.200.00 to £49,400.00 gross per annum depending on experience.

Who this job would suit:
This job will suit a friendly and proactive candidate who has a student-centred approach; someone who can understand when to offer support and when to take a step back and is experienced assisting with emotional and behavioural support. You’ll have strong maths and science skills and be able to deliver lessons to GCSE level. Great IT skills are essential. You will be a team player and able to follow instructions as well as being a self-starter and taking the lead.
