About this client:
Sean (21) is an engaging, fun-loving young man who is passionate about music. With the aid of his support workers, he plays the clarinet and guitar, loves going to gigs and listening to live music. Sean has athetoid cerebral palsy and requires 2:1 support at all times. He is a wheelchair user. He is non-verbal and uses Eye Gaze to aid his communication. He is PEG fed. He attends Treloars college. 

Overview of role:
As Sean’s Care Team Leader, you will support Sean at home and in the community and support his small team. Sean requires assistance with all aspects of his personal care. You will be confident to implement strategies, guidelines and programmes recommended by other health care professionals and therapists. Your team leading skills will ensure the team runs smoothly and Sean is provided with the highest standard of care and support. Team leader duties include completing staff supervisions and appraisals. The role is based on 42 hours per week on average; 39 hours during term time and 52 in the school’s holiday. Flexibility is required to pick up additional shifts if needed and may include day, evening, sleeping or waking night shifts.  Hours include 6 hours per week for the Team Leader administrative/supervisory tasks. £33,260.00 gross per annum, £16.00 gross per hour weekdays and £17.00 gross per hour weekends, National Living Wage for sleeping shifts. 

Who this job would suit:
This job will suit a confident, positive, and caring Team Leader who has previous experience working with young adults with physical disabilities and supervise a care team.  You will have excellent organisational skills. The ability to work on your own initiative is important for this position, but close communication with the client’s mother, team leader and case manager is vital.
