About this client:
David (11) is a gentle, charming young lad who enjoys interacting with people, being calmly talked, and read to, and sensory activities, especially with water involved. David is very tactile, he likes being outside, going for walks in the New Forrest. David has De Novo Mutation in GABRB3 and Smith-Magenis Syndrome. He has severe epilepsy and can have many seizures during the day and night. He is a wheelchair user, his feed, fluids, and medication are administered via Gastrostomy. David uses Eye Gaze to communicate. David has a poor bone density; his bones are very fragile. David requires suctioning and is using The Vest (airway clearance system).

Overview of role:
We are looking for two experienced, confident, flexible, and caring female* Support Workers to support David with his daily routine. David is home schooled, and you will support him with accessing his learning, providing personal care, implementing therapies, and ensuring he is safe and comfortable. David requires 1:1 support at times you will also be working alongside his family and/or other team members. Due to his condition, he is very fragile and requires support worker who will be very mindful of this and careful when caring for David. Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm. £31,200.00 gross per annum, based on 40 hours a week.

You will enjoy being a team player working alongside David’s family and other team members.
