About this client:
Arthur (11) is a very sociable and active young lad. He loves sport, especially swimming, cycling, skiing and being outdoors. He enjoys spending time with his family and has a great circle of friends. Arthur attends a local mainstream school. He has a cerebral palsy which affects his limbs, but can mobilise independently. Arthur is verbal but occasionally uses a special app on his device to support his communication.

Overview of role:
Your role would be to support Arthur with his morning and afterschool routine; assisting with personal care, meal preparation, homework and accessing different activities. You will develop a caring relationship with Arthur, promote and encourage his independence and proactively research and organise activities Arthur can enjoy. The hours required are Monday to Friday 7.30am-9.30am, Mon to Wed 2.30pm to 8.00.pm, Thu to Fri 2.30pm to 6.00pm. This is a shared role, please let us know your availability. Additional hours available during school holiday, staff annual leave and absences. Rates of pay: £15.00 gross per hour weekdays, and £16.00 gross per hour weekends.

Who this job would suit:
We are looking for a proactive and reliable Buddy / Support Worker with SEN experience; someone who is fun and full of energy, has plenty of common sense and is willing to learn new skills.  You will have a can-do attitude, be a creative and sensitive person with genuine interest in working with children.
