Weekend Waking Night Carer

Location: Camberwell, SE5
Wage: £16.00 Weekdays | £18.00 Weekends | Gross per Hour
Essential: Experience supporting a young client with a physical disability, non-smoker / vaper
Days & Hours: Friday and Saturday Night (2 weekends in four) 10.00pm – 8.45am
Recruiter: Jade@snapcare.co.uk

About this client:
Seb, 11, is a bright and engaging child. He has cerebral palsy and developmental delay which affects him physically. Seb uses Eye Gaze to support his communication. He is fed and has his medication administered via a gastrostomy and is completely dependent on others for all of his personal care, feeding, and mobilisation. Seb is looking for a kind and sensitive waking night carer to join his established home care team and provide 1:1 support during the night.

Overview of role:
Seb requires assistance with repositioning, preparing puréed feeds for his gastrostomy, and undertaking all of his personal care. He can be unpredictable and experience discomfort during the night, finding it difficult to get back to sleep, meaning his day can begin as early as 5am. Seb is observed via a monitor in the next room. This position also includes supporting Seb with his morning routine. Other duties will include tending to Seb’s laundry, batch cooking, preparing medications, stock checks, and washing syringes.

Who this job would suit:
Seb is looking for a confident, proactive, and experienced waking night carer who has previous experience caring for a young client with complex care needs. This is a permanent role, so we are looking for a long-term commitment.

What’s great about this job:
A great role supporting a charming and cheeky character. You will have the opportunity to learn many new skills working with Seb and receive ongoing training and supervision from his therapy team and case manager. There is also the opportunity to work additional hours.

Who is working with this client?
We are working in association with a case manager on this vacancy; they will be carrying out all recruitment, including shortlisting and interviewing. By applying for this vacancy, you agree to Snap Care sending your CV and contact details directly to our client for their consideration.
