Support Worker  
Location: Lingfield, RH7
Wage/Salary: £15.00 Weekdays | £17.00 Weekends
Essential: Confident driver, experience supporting a young client with epilepsy
Days & Hours: 11.00am – 7.00pm (3 days per week, to be mutually agreed)

About this client/child:
Alice is a bubbly, energetic, and engaging 7-year-old who loves spending time with her family, cycling, jumping on her trampoline, and all things arts and crafts and baking! As a result of Alice’s Brain Injury, she has bilateral cerebral palsy, is registered blind, and has epilepsy for which she follows the ketogenic diet.  Alice also has associated difficulties with her speech, gross and final motor skills and requires 1:1 support to fully access the world around her and reach her full potential. Alice is at the heart of a loving family, and they are recruiting a full-time Support Worker to join her care package.

Overview of role:
The Support Worker will advocate for Alice, continually promote her independence, facilitate her to maintain her role within her family, and to enable Alice to be Alice! The Support Worker will follow all aspects of the care plan and also implement therapy programmes provided by Alice’s team of therapists including OT, SALT and physio. Alice requires support with homework, accessing the community, participating in activities, and attending events and during the hours whilst Alice is at school the Support Worker will prepare and cook Alice’s Keto lunch and dinner and drop it off to school, complete health food shop, organise Alice room and prep activities. Due to Alice’s seizures, it is essential that she is closely monitored, and any seizure activity is recorded accurately. Training will be provided so the Support Worker is confident in their ability to support Alice if she has a seizure.

Who this job would suit:
An experienced Female* Support Worker that has previously supported a young client with epilepsy. It is essential that you are a non-smoker / vaper and a confident driver with your own car to travel to and from the family home. The Support Worker role is a permanent contract, offering 3 long shifts per week.
