Wage: £15.00 gross per hour weekdays, £17.00 gross per hour weekends
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? Yes, on duty
Essential: Confident working with younger children with physical disabilities, experience working in a family setting, non-smoker/vaper. Valid passport, happy to travel!
Preferable: Conductive Education, implementing therapy programmes such as physio, occupational therapy
Start Date: ASAP  
Days & Hours: Two weekday, after school shifts, plus either a Saturday or Sunday and summer holidays.

About this client:
Noah (8) is a bright, active, and sparky little lad. He enjoys swimming, baking, story time and spending time with his family. Noah is incredibly determined, focused, and strives for his independence. He was diagnosed with Dystonic Cerebral Palsy and has epilepsy. Noah can eat pureed food by spoon with guidance, small amounts at a time. He can express his feelings and wishes via a communication device. Noah attends a Conductive Education school which he enjoys and works very hard to achieve his goals.  Noah requires 2:1 assistance with his care and therapy needs.

Overview of role:
As Noah’s Support Worker, you will assist him to continue his therapy programmes outside of school hours. This is a very active role where you will incorporate Noah’s therapies into his daily routine and play, through enjoyable activities and exploring new interests. Your input will help promote Noah’s self-help and independence skills and help him reach his full potential. Noah needs support with his toileting and personal care. Available shifts: Term-time: 2 afternoons between Monday to Friday 4:00pm to 8:15pm, plus either Saturday or Sunday: 10.00am to 8.15pm. Overtime available to cover staff absence and annual leave, plus additional hours available during school holidays.

This job will suit an empathetic, caring and proactive support worker who enjoys working within a family home. You will need to be fit and healthy, this is a very active role, and have a genuine interest in learning and providing therapy. You will be working alongside another team member and/or Noah’s parents so you must enjoy being a team player.
