About this client/child:
Robbie, aged 8, enjoys all ball games, especially football. He loves watching TV, playing on his mum’s phone, dog walking, swimming and being outside. Robbie has hemiplegia as a result of a birth injury. He has associated learning disabilities, poor co-ordination, poor attention span and speech delay. This can lead to some behavioral challenges and  offensive language.  Robbie has recently started at a special school. He lives at home with his mum and 15-year-old sister.

Overview of role:
We are looking for a Support Worker to work closely with Robbie two days a week after school and every other weekend. A big part of this role will be working with Robbie’s therapy team to assist him with his communication skills, social skills, behaviour management and sleep management. Robbie responds best to simple instructions and a calm approach. During the weekends there will be occasions when the Support Worker will assist Robbie when he is staying with his Dad who lives in Brighton. There will be additional hours during the school holidays, flexibility offered depending on your availability. The role offers £16.00 gross during the weekday and £18.00 gross per hour during the weekends.

Who this job would suit:
This role will suit a Support Worker who is fun, energetic, patient and someone who Robbie’s mum can also feel comfortable around. If you have an interest in sports, especially football this would be a big bonus! Experience wise you must be confident with behaviour management and happy with sole working. A driver with their own car is essential, mileage will be paid when on duty.

What’s great about this job:
You will have the opportunity to work with a full multi-disciplinary team and receive bespoke training around Robbie’s behavioural programme.
