Essential: supporting clients with cerebral palsy, gastrostomy, manual handling, eye gaze communication device
Start Date: 2nd August to 9th September 
Days & Hours: Full time and Part Time available

About this client/child:
Jack (21) is a charming and lively young man with a great sense of humour and passion for life.  He is fun and bright and enjoys being out and about, visiting art galleries, cinema and theatres and travelling on buses and tubes. He has quadriplegic cerebral palsy  and is dependent on others for all his needs. Jack is non-verbal and uses Smartbox technology to communicate. You need to be IT savvy to enable him to communicate effectively. All his medication, feed and fluids are administered via gastrostomy. 


Overview of role:
Your role would be to assist Jack with all aspects of his daily routine and enable him to pursue his interests. You will take him out on trips, plan age-appropriate activities and help him to access what London has to offer during the school holidays. Shifts available:  Monday – Sunday 09.00am to 5.00pm. We are looking for at least 2 support workers to cover the full week.  Hourly rate £15.00 - £17.00 gross per hour depending on experience.


Who this job would suit:
This job will suit a proactive, energetic and fun candidate with genuine interest working with young adults. You must be confident in manual handling, providing personal care and gastrostomy management. You will be a team player and be comfortable working alongside Jack’s parents and other team members.
