About this client:
Owen (12) is a fun and sparky young lad with very busy social life. He likes to swim (he has his own hydro pool), to go shopping, visiting places and listening to music. Owen has two younger sisters who adore him, it is a busy household! Owen has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, epilepsy and is fully dependent on others for all his care needs. He requires 2:1 support with personal care, transfers, and mobilisation in his wheelchair. Owen is cognitively very able; he is non-verbal and uses Eye Gaze effectively to communicate. His feeds, fluids and mediations are administered via a PEG.

Overview of role:
We are looking for 3 dedicated, caring, and fun Support Workers to join Owen’s team. In this role you will have opportunity to work 2:1 with Owen and provide practical, hands-on support including all his personal care needs, implementing his therapy programmes, and organising activities and outings. This is a busy household, and you will pitch in as and when needed with light housekeeping duties/ tasks related to Owen’s care. He is a witty and funny young lad; this job will never get boring! £15.00 weekdays an £17.00 weekends,  gross per hour. Full and Part-time hours are available. All support workers will be required to cover some morning, afternoon/evening, and weekend shifts to maintain a robust team for Owen. Please state your availability when applying.

Who this job would suit:
This role will suit a proactive, energetic and efficient support worker with excellent communication skills, Someone who likes to be engaged in a range of activities and enjoys working 1:1 with young clients. You will be experienced supporting children with a physical disability as well as having skills necessary to work in a family setting.
