About this client/child:
Peter is a cheeky, fun-loving 9-year-old boy who enjoys playing with his siblings, swimming, and outings such as visiting the zoo. Peter has an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and complex medical needs which include ventilation via a tracheostomy, oral suctioning, cough assist, bladder and bowel management, and all medication and nutrition is administered via his PEG. Peter requires practical and physical support to meet all his care and medical needs.  He is a bright, intellectual young lad and uses technology to communicate.

Overview of the role:
In this role, you will assist with all aspects of Peter’s care plan, medical needs, and therapy plan. Training is provided in all areas of Peter's complex care needs.  He is a fun and energetic chap who knows his own mind strives for independence and wants to exceed his targets and goals. The Carer will work a mixture of shifts (day and waking night) and support Peter at home, out in the community, and at school (All dependent on the guidelines provided by the Government regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic). Shifts are 12 hours long and the rota is provided 1 month in advance.

Who this job would suit:
We are looking for a Support Worker who is passionate and wants to make a real difference and see a young person excel. It is essential that you have previous Carer or HCA experience and that you are a confident driver (automatic, adapted vehicle on duty), a non-smoker/vaper, and a confident swimmer.
