Wage/Salary: £12.00/£13.00 Weekdays | £13.00/£14.00 Weekends | DOE, Gross per Hour
Driver Essential? Essential
Essential: Previous experience supporting a client with additional needs, comfortable supporting a client during hydrotherapy sessions (will involve getting into a swimming pool)
Days & Hours: Weekend and School Holidays. Permanent contract with set hours as agreed.

About our clients:
A truly unique and rewarding opportunity supporting George and Amy, 18-year-old twins with complex care and medical needs. The twins are at the heart of a loving and supportive family; Mum, Dad, and their younger sister Isla who is soon to be 11. George and Amy have dyskinetic cerebral palsy, are both wheelchair users, and receive their liquid and medication via a PEG. The twins have a DBS (deep brain stimulator) in place to help with their dystonia. Amy uses a communication book and Eye Gaze to support her communication and George has a cochlear implant and uses some sign language and a communication book to support his.

Overview of the role:
George and Amy are recruiting a team of Support Workers (plural) to provide 1:1 support during the day when they are home from residential school. The family home is fully adapted with ceiling tracks hoists and a hydrotherapy pool. The Support Worker will provide hands-on practical support in all areas of the care plans including personal care, preparation and administration of medication and using peg throughout the day, feeding, implement therapy programmes.  Facilitate and enable George and Amy to explore new interests and access the world around them, participate in family life, activities and continually promote their independence.  The twins are very sociable and live life to the full!

Term Time Days / Hours: Friday 4.00pm to 8.00/9.00pm; Saturday and Sunday 10.00am to 8.00/9.00pm
School Holidays Days / Hours: Monday to Sunday 10.00am to 8.00/9.00pm
The package will offer regular permanent shifts and the family can work around the availability of successful candidates, so please contact us if you are available for any of the above hours! The key is regular commitment.

Who this job would suit:
Proactive, engaging, and reliable Support Workers looking to take on a new challenge who has plenty of energy and initiative and really want to make a difference to these young adults and their access to the world. This would be an ideal position for a current part-time worker or student or a TA or LSA working in a school setting. The successful Support Workers will be non-smokers and happy to swim.
