Recruiter: Rachael Cordell Rachael@snapcare.co.uk

About this client/child:
Tom and his family are well known to Snap Care; we are incredibly privileged to have known Tom since he was 7 years old. Tom is now 23 and attends college full time. He is surrounded by his rather fabulous family including his two younger, fiercely supportive sisters. Tom has complex medical needs; he is registered blind, has severe epilepsy, is non-verbal, requires support with all his personal care, and has a JEG/PEG tube in place. He has moderate learning difficulties and challenges with communication, but a good understanding of the world around him. He has nebulisers and chest physio in the morning and evening.

Overview of role:
This is a full on, but fantastic role. Tom has hoists and changing table in his room with an elevator to the kitchen. Tom loves activities and exploration and looking to have fun during his half term from college - while getting to know a new carer! There may be some days when Tom just wants to chill, or weather permitting, when he will want to take his dog out to the park (Pinner has lovely green areas to walk through), or to the coffee shop. Tom will let you know how he is feeling and what he wants to do.

Who this job would suit:
This role would suit someone who is studying, looking for extra holiday hours. There is the potential for ongoing work as part of the team supporting Tom during holidays and some weekends. The next set of holiday dates the family requires are during the Easter break, Monday to Friday starting from 11th April and finishing on the 22nd April 202.

What’s great about this job:
Tom is what is brilliant about this job. He is incredibly kind, gentle, and patient. And he likes a laugh! You will work hard but it’ll be worth it to see Tom have a special half-term.

Who is recruiting for this role?
Snap Care will be carrying out all recruitment including shortlisting, recruiter interviews and arranging employer interviews.

Please note:
*Where a specific gender is stated as essential, gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance to paragraph 1, of schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for female or male worker to work with our client.
