Essential: Confident working with younger children with physical disabilities, experience working in a family setting, non-smoker
Preferable: Conductive Education, implementing therapy programmes such as physio, occupational therapy
Start Date: ASAP  
Days & Hours: After school, weekends and school holidays, to be worked between 2 or 3 candidates

About this client:
Arthur (8) is a bright, active, and sparky little lad. Arthur enjoys swimming, baking, story time and spending time with his family. Arthur is incredibly determined, focused, and strives for his independence. He was diagnosed with Dystonic Cerebral Palsy and has epilepsy. Arthur can eat pureed food by spoon with guidance, small amounts at a time. He can express his feelings and wishes via a communication device. Arthur attends a Conductive Education school which he enjoys and works very hard to achieve his goals.  Arthur requires 2:1 assistance with his care and therapy needs.

Overview of role:
As his Therapy Assistant/ Support Worker, you will assist Arthur to continue his therapy programmes outside of school hours. This is a very active role where you will incorporate Arthur’s therapies into his daily routine and play, through enjoyable activities and exploring new interests. Your input will help promote Arthur’s self-help and independence skills and help him reach his full potential. Arthur needs support with his toilet training and personal care. Our client is seeking 2 or 3 people to support Arthur out of school hours. Term-time this is Monday to Friday 4:15pm to 8:15pm, Weekends: 8.00am to 8.15pm and School holidays: 8.00am to 8.15pm.
