About this client/child:
James is 14 years old; he is an outgoing, bright, and sociable young man. He has big ambitions and wants to run his own café when he is older as he loves cooking for other people. James has Cerebral Palsy and as a result, requires support to meet all daily tasks, he is a wheelchair user and communicates using his computer. He is an amazing young man.
Overview of role:
The Support Worker will assist James with personal care tasks, manual handling, therapy programmes, completing homework, attending, and arranging activities, driving to appointments, social events. The Support Worker will act as an advocate and continually promote James’ independence. The Support Worker will be confident working 1:1, alongside team members or from time to time James’ parents. This is a full-time, permanent role.
2 or 3 weekday shifts: 4.00pm – 9.00am (on-call night: 9.30pm – 7.00am)
Alternate Weekends: Saturday or Sunday: 9.00 am – 9.00 pm (you will not work every weekend)
Rates of pay: £14.21 weekdays £16.24 Weekends £8.63 Weeknights £9.64 Weekend Nights | All figures quoted in gross per hour.
During probation, the day hours are paid at £1.00 less.
