About this client/child:
Lara is a delightful, happy and affectionate little girl who will be turning three in April. She enjoys play, being read to and exploring her surroundings. Lara is on the autistic spectrum and has developmental and speech delay. She has very limited vocabulary but does make some babbling noises. Lara has little awareness of things around her, she is more than a year developmentally delayed in all areas, and she displays fixations and meltdowns. The family are keen to find the best support for Lara early on to give her the best outcomes.

Overview of role:
We are looking for a Specialist Nanny who can promote effective intensive interaction with Lara throughout the day focusing on all areas of her development, with particular focus on her speech and language skills and supporting her with clear firm boundaries whilst also implementing strategies suggested by the professionals. Lara currently has little awareness of things going on around her so you will need to be very proactive with your approach and constantly re-direct. Part of your role will be to cook and prepare healthy meals for Lara. At home, the role is mostly sole charge with the occasional shared care with Lara’s parents. Lara’s family will be working closely with a consultant well-known to Snap Care, who will be creating a bespoke intervention for Lara (please note, this is not an ABA programme). You will receive guidance and support to implement the intervention into Lara’s daily routine.  Once Lara starts attending Nursery part of your role will be to support her there and help her engage with the educational activities. An automatic car will be provided for work and personal use. The hours are Monday to Friday 7.30 am to 7.30 pm. (The time between 7.00 am to 7.30 pm will give you the opportunity to complete admin tasks). The family will be offering between £40,000.00 to £50,000.00 net per annum, depending on the level of autism and early years experience.

Who this job would suit:
This role will suit an experienced Specialist Nanny who is accustomed working in a family setting who has excellent knowledge of developmental milestones and autism who can confidently put in place firm boundaries and promote an intense structure. Personality wise, someone who is compassionate & firm, patient, positive, energetic, and animated will be a great fit for this family. You will be a great team player and have the sensitivity be able to judge when to step in and when to give the family their privacy.

What’s great about this job:
This is a great opportunity to work with a young and friendly family. Due to Lara’s young age, you would be joining at a pivotal time, where you can make a big different in her development. The family are offering an attractive package that includes double bedroom with ensuite, medical insurance, return ticket home and 30 days annual leave. You will also have access to the gym and swimming pool.

Who is recruiting for this role?
Snap Care will be carrying out all recruitment including shortlisting, recruiter interviews and arranging employer interviews.
