About this client:
Amy (6) is a charming little girl who enjoys listening to music, sensory stimulation and lots of cuddles. Amy has severe cerebral palsy, which affects all her body, dystonia, epilepsy, other complex medical needs and is registered blind. She can distinguish between light and dark and has recently started wearing glasses to help her fix and follow. Amy has a pureed food diet and takes all her food and fluids orally. She requires assistance with all aspects of her routine and care needs. 

Overview of role:
Amy requires 2:1 care at all times and in this role. You’ll support Amy by providing personal care, following recommended therapy techniques, monitoring her health and administering her medication, and engaging Amy in stimulating activities she enjoys. We are looking for a support worker who can commit to regular Tuesdays during term time from 7.00 am to 9.30 am then 12.30 pm to 8.00 pm. During school holidays, the hours are 7.30 am to 8.00 pm. There is an opportunity to cover Waking and Sleeping shifts on a regular basis to cover annual leave or sickness absence. A rate of £15.00 gross per hour is paid for weekdays, and £17.00 gross per hour, for weekends

Amy is looking for a confident and energetic and friendly, female* Support Worker who has previous experience caring for a child with complex care needs. You’ll be kind and patient and enjoy being a team player; you will be working alongside other team and family members. Amy’s needs are complex, and you’ll embrace learning new skills and understand the importance of carefully following instructions. This is a permanent role, so we are looking for someone who wants to make a long-term commitment. You’ll be a confident driver, happy to drive Amy to her appointments and activities.
