Full-Time Waking Night Carer

Location: Colchester CO5
Wage: £16.00 Weekdays | £18.00 Weekends | Gross per Hour  
Essential: Experienced Waking Night Carer, previous experience supporting a child with additional needs
Days & Hours: 9.00pm – 7.00am OR 7.00pm – 7.00am Week 1: 3 shifts Week 2: 4 shifts

About this client/child:
Emily is 8 years old, a determined young lady with a passion for horse riding, dance and loves trampolining and swimming. She lives at home with her Mummy and Daddy in Colchester. Emily has Diplegic Cerebral Palsy, Global Development Delay, and sporadic epileptic seizures. Emily is verbal and uses Makaton to support her communication, she is a wheelchair user outdoors and can sit and crawl independently at home.

Overview of role:
The Waking Night Carer will assist with Emily’s night-time routine, tending to her all needs including personal care when required. Due to Emily’s sporadic seizures throughout the night, close monitoring and recording is vital. Emily usually wakes multiple times per night and the Waking Night Carer will soothe and settle her, so she has a restful night’s sleep. The Waking Night Carer will be available for 3 or 4 shifts per week, the shifts are on a rota basis and will include some weekend work, although you will not work every weekend. This is a permanent, full-time contract.
