Support Worker
Location: Colchester CO5
Wage: £16.00 Weekdays Gross per Hour | £16,000.00 + Gross per Annum
Essential: Previous experience supporting a child with additional needs, driver (automatic vehicle for use on duty)
Days & Hours: 3 weekday shifts: 3.00pm – 9.00pm, School Holidays: 3 x 8 hour days

About this client/child:
Emily is 8 years old, a determined young lady with a passion for horse riding, dance and loves trampolining and swimming. She lives at home with her Mummy and Daddy in Colchester. Emily has Diplegic Cerebral Palsy, Global Development Delay, and sporadic epileptic seizures. Emily is verbal and uses Makaton to support her communication, she is a wheelchair user outdoors and can sit and crawl independently at home.
Overview of role:
The Support Worker will assist Emily with her afterschool routine, complete school pick up, attend afterschool activities, clubs, appointments etc. Support with all aspects of her care plan, personal care and, provide practical and emotional support. You will continually promote Emily’s independence and be her advocate. Your role as Support Worker will also include working alongside Emily’s therapy team and implement his therapy programmes.
