Paediatric Support Worker   
Location:
Epping, CM16
Wage: £15.00 Weekdays £17.00 Weekends
Essential: Childcare experience, complex medical care (PEG Feeding and/or suctioning experience), swimmer, nonsmoker/vaper
Days & Hours: 8.00am – 6.00pm (2 weekdays per week, flexible on days)

About our client:
Oscar is 5 years old and is at the centre of a loving, warm, and welcoming family. He lives with his Mum, Dad and older brother in Epping and loves spending time with his family, exploring, playing outside, and using his iPad. Oscar sustained a brain injury at birth and as a result has a physical disability, global developmental delay, and complex medical needs.  Oscar receives his nutrition, fluid and medication via his PEG feed and requires suctioning. He is mobile on his knees and can pull himself up into a standing position. Oscar is non-verbal and working hard on using some Makaton signs for communication. He attends a local school 4 mornings per week currently.

Overview of role:
The Support Worker will provide 1:1 care and support to Oscar 2 days per week, assisting with his care plan, medical needs, personal care, explore new hobbies and interests, plan and organise activities, support with learning and education, and his therapy programme. Oscar has a full therapy team assisting with his rehabilitation and his Support Worker will work alongside his team implementing his therapy. Oscar and his family are looking for 2 days of support per week, they do not require specific days and can be flexible for the right candidate.

Who this job would suit:
An energetic, outgoing, resourceful Support Worker with experience in Paediatric and complex care. A confident manual driver, non-smoker/vaper.
