About this client:
We have a fantastic opportunity for candidates looking to get into support work – no previous experience is required, excellent training available (up to NVQ level if wanted), and you will always have the support of a second person. Our client Paul, is 34 and enjoys music, sensory games, swimming and going on walks with friends and family. He has a great sense of humour which becomes very apparent when you meet him! Paul has cerebral palsy (quadriplegic), a visual impairment and severe learning disabilities. He also has epilepsy and mild asthma. He is a full-time wheelchair user, non-verbal and requires support with all his care needs.

Overview of role:
We are looking for 2 or 3 Support Worker’s to join Paul’s team and assist him with his independent living. He lives in a lovely bungalow which has been fully adapted to meet all his needs. You will always be working alongside another member of the team when on shift. As part of your role, you will accompany Paul on social activities, swimming and various visits. Being able to drive would be beneficial but is not essential – there is a van provided for trips when on duty. This package offers 37.5 hours/week, there is some flexibility if you prefer slightly more or less hours. The 2-week shift pattern covers days and weekends and the hours that need covering are between 7.00am to 10.00pm. You will always be provided with two days off during the week and all morning, evening and weekend shifts are distributed fairly. The role offers between £10.00 to £11.00 gross per hour depending on prior training and experience.

This package provides full training, support, and guidance so this role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience and qualifications in order to start a new career path in this valuable profession. Whilst no prior experience is necessary, a caring and patient nature is a must, as is a willingness to learn. You must also be reliable and understand the importance of working as part of a team.

What’s great about this job:
As above, full in-house training is provided and any additional external training will be paid for, and ultimately qualification to upper NVQ levels if this is of interest to you. The role also offers a bike to work scheme.
