About this client:
Jenny is an older lady who enjoys going to the cinema, theatre and venturing into town. She also loves eating out and having her hair done on a frequent basis. Jenny sustained a brain injury in the year 2000. She has complex cognitive and mental health care needs which impacts her attention, concentration, short term memory, judgement, and processing of information. She uses a walker for her mobility, the only time she may need assistance is when tackling a small platform. Jenny does also experience cognitive fatigue and severe anxiety which can manifest as somatoforms disorder.
Overview of role:
We are looking for an additional Support Worker to join Jenny’s friendly team. You will be supporting Jenny in all areas of her daily living, including meal preparation, reaching therapy goals and completing day to day activities. Jenny enjoys an active lifestyle but will need to be supported and prompted. She uses her treadmill daily and has access to an indoor bike. Jenny can display splitting behaviours (seeing things in a very black or white way) so Jenny’s support workers tailor their support to avoid the onset of such behaviours by keeping a consistent approach between all staff members and following the guidance in Jenny’s support plan. An automatic car will be provided when on duty. The role is offering one to two 24 hour shifts per week, this includes a sleeping Night, usually from 8.00am until 8.00am the following day, when another member of staff takes over. The role can accommodate a candidate’s preference on days so please email your availability. The rates offered are £12.00 during the weekday and £15.00 gross per hour during the weekend. Sleeping Night Rates: £71.20 gross per shift.
