About this client/child:
John is 19 years old now, but Snap has known him since he was a wee boy. He lives with his parents in a fully adapted house, supported by his care team 24/7. He has access to an established sensory garden where he loves spending time; he has a wheelchair swing which he enjoys when the weather is good. There are local walks his care team takes him, shops, and cafes to visit! John likes to watch films – he uses an Eye Gaze to support his communication so will let you know what he wants to watch. John has Cerebral Palsy, Global Developmental Delay and Epilepsy. He receives his food/nutrition and medication via a PEG.

Overview of role:
Supporting John involves hoisting moving and handling, assisting with personal care, and administrating medication / PEG feed He is looking for an experienced *female Support Worker to join his already dedicated team. There are care plans and established routines in place. It is important that you feel comfortable working alongside family members in facilitating John in his daily routine, ensuring he is comfortable and safe! He has a fantastic fully adapted chill-out room, bedroom, and wet room. John is sensitive to sensory input and requires gentle lighting and constant white noise background.
There will be some weekend work required but a rota is provided 4 weeks in advance.

This job requires an experienced *female Support Worker, who is sensitive and committed to John’s specific needs. Successful candidates will have flexibility regarding shift coverage and weekend/school holiday availability This role would suit someone looking for 12-hour shifts.

Excellent training is available in all areas of John’s care. Ongoing support and supervision are provided by John’s Case Manager.
